Champignon Brands Inc. (OTCMKTS:SHRMF) has appointed Christopher Hobbs as the company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer effective December 8, 2020. Mr. Hobbs will act as an interim CFO replacing Stephen Brohman who has resigned from his CFO role effective December 7, 2020.
Hobbs to act as interim CFO
Brohman will continue assisting Champignon Brands during the transition period until the company gets a new full-time CFO. The company has appreciated his assistance in that regard. Hobbs’ will act as CFO as the company continues to search for a new full-time CFO as per its announcement on November 24, 2020.
This will not be the first time Hobbs is acting as CFO having served several private and public companies operating in health sciences, resource, and tech industries. Hobbs is a Chartered Accountant of Ontario member holding a bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Schulich School of Business at York University.
Champignon Brands CEO, Roger McIntyre stated that Hobbs will bring vast experience and expertise relevant to the company at such a vital moment. Hobbs acknowledged the company’s goal of becoming a leader in breakthrough therapies for mental disorders such as depression. He stated that currently, the priority is working diligently to finalize the BCSC continuous disclosure review.
Champignon announces changes in management and governance
In November the company announced that its management and governance could undergo a comprehensive change to extend its practices. Champignon announced a series of moves that are in progress as a basis for enhanced priorities in dull, transparent, and accurate reporting including operational preparedness to meet growing, pandemic-driven demand for its services.
The company has a new Board Chair and CEO and a new Vice-Chair which were announced in October. Besides the appointment of an interim CFO, Champignon is searching for a new permanent CFO, SVP Investor, and Public Communications and Chief General Counsel. Also, the company will expand its board with more outside directors from the science and business sectors. Champignon recently redesigned its website to promote easy access to information by investors and the general public.
