A proposal which emanated from Texas State advocating for government agencies to initiate research on psychedelics and how psychedelics drugs can be used to cure various mental conditions has yet again made a major leap after the senate passed the bill.

The house bill 1802 championing for research of therapeutic effects of psilocybin and MDMA was first introduced by Texas state Rep. Alex Dominguez (D) back in February.

The bill is proposing an initiative which requires Texas Medical Board and Department of State Health to research on MDMA, ketamine and psilocybin and how they can be used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental illness conditions.

In the beginning of the month, the bill was approved by the House and mid last week it was passed by Senate Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee after the committee voted 5:0 in favor of the bill sending it to the senate.
