Aspirant for the Mayor position in New York State, Alex Yang, is advocating for legalization of psychedelic therapies for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Yang says these psychedelic therapies will be administered under a medical controlled setting.

For decades, our city has failed the veterans who live here and suffer from staggeringly disproportionate rates of homelessness, mental health issues, and suicide. As Mayor, I am going to recognize that investing in our veterans is an investment in the future of our city,” said Yang.

According to Yang, as the United States Memorial Day holiday is quickly approaching, many will be using the day to remember those who have dedicated to serve the country both across the country and abroad.

Yang says the mental health condition of such individuals should not be taken for granted as they are the ones who enable residents of New York city and the country at large live in peace fully knowing they are well protected.

As Americans, we owe those who enlisted to fight for our country a great debt, and as New Yorkers, we have the power not only to pay that debt, but put them front and center to help drive our city’s recovery,” added Yang.
